Food binds people like no other force and to test our passion for food we walked the streets of Old Delhi from Chawri Bazaar metro station all the way to Jama Masjid. On the way we experienced some amazing gastronomical delights finally culminating our walk at the famous Karim’s. Here are some glimpses of the Food journey the 4 “Almost strangers” took!!!
From Chawri Bazaar metro station and the exquisite chaat, we left for Jama Masjid expecting to kick start the evening with some heavy duty stuff.
After reaching Jama Masjid the flavours & the fragrance of Kebabs was overwhelming and our food instincts took over. The hunt started and there was no turning back.
Next Stop: Aslam Chicken Corner, the roasted chicken here is served in a large bowl over which a whole pot of melted butter is poured.
After having consumed so much food, our hearts were still not full and we finally decided to descend onto the legendary Karim’s a 100 year old restaurant still going strong.
The food walk helped us to exploit our passion for food and travel and we are hoping the consequent food walks would increase in frequency and numbers.
With a heavy stomach and a heavier heart we head down the rabbit hole back to our worldly responsibilities, only to vow to return again at a different place and different time!!!
